James Yardley
Teacher
With a sincere desire to help others, James completed his Masters in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (MAcOM) degree from Oregon College of Oriental Medicine (OCOM), in Portland, OR. This comprehensive program paid attention to the five pillars of Traditional Chinese Medicine – Acupuncture/Moxibustion, Herbal Medicine, Qigong, Nutrition, and Tui Na massage.
Since graduating, James has gained valuable experience in treating musculoskeletal pain with electroacupuncture, Tui Na massage, gua sha, and cupping methods. James has also trained as a Zen Shiatsu practitioner, which he especially enjoys for its relaxing, stress reducing qualities. Other skillsets include Aroma Acupoint Therapy, using specific essential oils on acupuncture points, as well as Acutonics, which utilizes tuning forks on acupuncture points. Both of these adjunctive modalities offer a very gentle approach toward working with the body.
His goal with every client is to help them to find their own resilience, self-empowerment, and to feel their best. He has interests in bioregional herbalism, herbal medicine-making, studying the I Ching, Four Pillars, and Chinese Cosmology, and enjoys playing the guitar, biking, hiking, camping, practicing tai chi, qigong, cooking, and spending time with his wife and dog.
